KTM is expanding its entry-level supersport lineup in India by moving from the 125 cc class to the more performance-focused 160 cc segment with the upcoming KTM RC 160.

New KTM RC 160

The KTM RC 160 design heavily mimics the larger RC 200, featuring a sharp, track-inspired look with aggressive LED headlamps and an aerodynamic fairing.

Design Inspiration

It sports KTM's signature Electric Orange graphics on a Black base, along with a matching orange rear subframe and an underbelly exhaust.

Signature Styling

It is powered by the 164.2 cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine (shared with the 160 Duke), paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a four-valve DOHC setup.

Engine Specifications

On paper, the KTM RC 160 outperforms its main rival, the Yamaha R15 V4, producing 19 PS of power and 15.5 Nm of torque (compared to Yamaha's 18.4 PS and 14.2 Nm).

Performance Advantage

The KTM RC 160 is equipped with high-quality WP suspension at both ends (USD forks and a monoshock) and rides on 17-inch wheels.

Premium Hardware

Braking duties are handled by a 320 mm front disc and a 230 mm rear disc, equipped with dual-channel ABS as a standard feature.

Braking & Safety Feature

The KTM RC 160 features an LCD instrument cluster displaying vital information such as gear position, RPM, fuel consumption, and distance to empty (DTE).

Technology Integration

It directly targets the Yamaha R15 V4 & Pulsar N160, boasting a slight power and torque advantage on paper.

Direct Rival to R15

The KTM RC 160 is expected to launch in early 2026 with a starting price of around ₹1.85 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it as a premium choice over the R15 V4.
