Maruti Suzuki Hustler Mini SUV Spied in India – Could It Rival the Tata Punch?

Suzuki Hustler Spotted Testing – A New Tata Punch Competitor?

The Tata Punch has been a huge success in India, competing with cars like the Hyundai Exter and Citroen C3. Now, a new contender might be on the way—the Suzuki Hustler, recently spotted testing in India. Could this be Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the Punch?

Suzuki Hustler Spied Without Camouflage – What’s New?

A test model of the Suzuki Hustler was seen on Indian roads, completely without camouflage. The images, shared by Delhisupercars, reveal its unique boxy design typical of Japanese Kei cars.

  • The car had no Suzuki badges or Hustler branding (likely hidden for secrecy).
  • It featured a dual-tone paint scheme—a light silver/white body with a dark gray roof.
  • The design includes roof rails, body cladding, and a tall-boy stance, giving it a mini-SUV look.
  • Large windows and short overhangs make it look compact yet spacious.

Will Maruti Suzuki Launch the Hustler in India?

The Suzuki Hustler is currently a small Kei car, measuring just 3,395 mm in length—too compact for Indian buyers who prefer bigger cars. However, Maruti Suzuki could modify and enlarge it for India, just like Hyundai did with the Exter (based on the Kia Casper).

Possible Changes for India:

  • Longer wheelbase for more cabin space.
  • Bigger engine options (likely a 1.2L petrol engine).
  • More SUV-like styling to compete with the Punch.

Could It Replace the Maruti Ignis?

The Ignis has been losing popularity, with even the Jimny outselling it in recent months. If launched, the Hustler could replace the Ignis and become a strong rival to the Tata Punch.

Final Thoughts – Will It Launch?

While the Hustler has been spotted testing, there’s no confirmation yet if Maruti Suzuki will bring it to India. The company has tested global cars in India before without launching them.

If it arrives, expect a taller, more spacious version with competitive pricing to take on the Punch, Exter, and Citroen C3.

Stay tuned for more updates! 🚗💨
