TVS to Launch New Affordable Electric Scooter Around Diwali 2025

TVS Motor Company is preparing to launch a new electric scooter in India around the festive season of Diwali 2025 (October-November). This new model will be more affordable than the existing iQube and could be priced as low as Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom).

The company is working on several new products this year, including the RTX 300 adventure bike and a more powerful 150cc version of the Ntorq scooter. Now, TVS is expanding its electric vehicle lineup with this budget-friendly e-scooter to attract more buyers.

Expected Features and Specifications of the New TVS Electric Scooter

The upcoming TVS electric scooter is expected to come with a 2.2 kWh battery or even a smaller unit, offering a range of around 70-80 km per charge. It will likely use a Bosch hub-mounted motor, similar to the iQube. Since it is a cost-effective model, it may have a simple design and basic features.

Currently, the TVS iQube starts at Rs 1 lakh for the base 2.2 kWh variant, while the top model with a 5.1 kWh battery costs up to Rs 2 lakh. The new scooter will be positioned below the iQube, making it one of the most affordable electric scooters from TVS.

What Could Be the Name of the New TVS E-Scooter?

TVS has not yet revealed the name of this new electric scooter. However, some reports suggest it could be called the Jupiter EV, taking advantage of the popularity of the Jupiter brand. TVS has already showcased a CNG version of the Jupiter at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

There are also rumors that TVS might introduce an electric version of its XL moped. The company has recently filed patents for names like XL EV and E-XL, hinting at a possible electric moped launch. The XL100 is currently the cheapest petrol-powered two-wheeler from TVS, so an electric XL could be a game-changer in the budget segment.

TVS Leading the Electric Scooter Market in India

TVS entered the electric vehicle market with the iQube in 2020. In May 2025, the company became the top-selling electric scooter brand in India, with nearly 20,000 units sold. Besides the iQube, TVS also sells the X electric scooter, which was launched in August 2023.

Why This New TVS Electric Scooter Matters

The Indian electric scooter market is growing fast, and TVS is competing with brands like Ola, Ather, and Bajaj. By introducing a cheaper electric scooter, TVS can reach more buyers who want an eco-friendly and low-cost commuting option.

If priced around Rs 90,000, this scooter could become a strong competitor to other entry-level electric scooters in India. With its trusted brand name and expanding EV lineup, TVS is set to make a big impact this festive season.

Keep an eye out for more details as the launch date approaches. This new TVS electric scooter could be a great choice for daily commuters looking for an affordable and reliable EV.
