Voting is currently taking place for the Lok Sabha Polls 2024 Phase 6. This phase involves 58 out of the 543 constituencies, including all seven seats in Delhi. Delhi, along with seven other states and Union territories, is witnessing intense competition. After this phase, only 57 constituencies will remain for the seventh and final phase of voting on June 1.
Lok Sabha Polls 2024 Phase 6: Voter turnout in Bihar
About 9.66 per cent of the 14.9 million voters in eight Lok Sabha constituencies in Bihar had cast their votes by 9 am.
Voting started at 7 am in the Valmiki Nagar, Pashchim Champaran, Purvi Champaran, Sheohar, Siwan, Gopalganj, Maharajganj, and Vaishali constituencies and will continue until 6 pm.
By 9 am, voter turnout was recorded at 11.95 per cent in Vaishali, 10.54 per cent in Siwan, 9.49 per cent in Gopalganj, 9.35 per cent in Paschim Champaran, 9.25 per cent in Sheohar, 9.06 per cent in Maharajganj, 8.95 per cent in Purvi Champaran, and 8.55 per cent in Valmiki Nagar.

Lok Sabha Pools 2024 Phase 6: Voter turnout in Haryana
By 9 am, Haryana had recorded an 8.31% voter turnout in its 10 Lok Sabha constituencies. Additionally, polling is ongoing for the Karnal assembly seat by-election, where Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is a candidate. This by-election was called after his predecessor, Manohar Lal Khattar, resigned.
There are about 20 million registered voters, including 9,423,956 women and 467 people from the transgender community.
According to the Election Commission’s data, in the first two hours after voting started at 7 am, the Bhiwani-Mahendragarh constituency saw the highest turnout at 10.26%, while Faridabad had the lowest at 5.46%.
In this election, people seemed less enthusiastic. In Ambala, the voter turnout was only 6.92 per cent, while in Gurugram it was 6.20 per cent. Hisar recorded a turnout of 7.44 per cent, Karnal 9.29 per cent, Kurukshetra 9.92 per cent, Rohtak 10.22 per cent, Sirsa 9.81 per cent, and Sonipat 9.33 per cent. It’s concerning that the public participation was so low.

Lok Sabha elections Phase 6: Voter turnout in West Bengal
By 9 am on Saturday, West Bengal saw a voter turnout of 16.54 per cent in the eight Lok Sabha constituencies that were up for polls in the sixth phase.
Polling started at 7 am in Tamluk, Kanthi, Ghatal, Jhargram, Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura, and Bishnupur constituencies. Tamluk saw the highest turnout at 19.07 per cent, followed by Bishnupur at 18.56 per cent, Ghatal at 18.27 per cent, Bankura at 17.69 per cent, Jhargram at 16.22 per cent, Kanthi at 15.45 per cent, Medinipur at 14.58 per cent, and Purulia at 12.68 per cent.
